The establishment of Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya, Ashokenagar was the fulfillment of a dream long cherished by eminent personalities and educationists of the locality. In tune with the local thirst for knowledge which resulted in the emergence of a sizeable number of Secondary and Higher Secondary schools in the Ashokenagar-Kalyangarh area, the late Nani Kar, then an MLA , already an educationist and a dreamer, seriously felt the need for a degree college in the said catchments area. The college in the vicinity, Sree Chaitnya College & Sree Chaitanya Mahavidyalaya at Habra could hardly accommodate the increasing demand and number of higher education-seekers from far and near.

Standing at the threshold of a new responsibility, I feel a profound sense of gratitude and purpose as I address you for the first time as the Principal of Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya, Ashoknagar. To be entrusted with the stewardship of such an institution is both an honour and a commitment that I embrace wholeheartedly.
Our college was born out of a vision cherished by the late Shri Nani Kar, the late Shri Chitta Basu and other dedicated educationists of this region who dreamt of bringing quality higher education to the doorsteps of the Ashoknagar-Kalyangarh area. What started as a humble initiative in the year 2000 has today blossomed into an institution that proudly nurtures around fifteen hundred students every year. From our early days in a neighborhood school building to our present three-storied campus with modern facilities, the twenty-five-year journey of Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya speaks of determination, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to education.
