Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya began its journey in 2001 with a modest number of students. Within just two or three years, the institution grew to stand on par with other established general degree colleges in the region. The campus came alive with the energy of thousands of students, and their academic performance rose steadily, earning the college a reputation for excellence.
It was against this backdrop that the alumni community took shape. In 2017, former students came together to establish the “Ashoknagar Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya Prakritani” — the official alumni association of the college. The organization received formal registration in 2019.
The association’s commitment to social responsibility was put to the test during the devastating COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. As the country grappled with an unprecedented crisis, the alumni stepped forward to support the vulnerable. At Bhatshala village, located just three kilometres from the college, they distributed essential supplies — soap, sanitizers, masks, and disinfectants — to underprivileged communities in need.
Beyond community outreach, the alumni have been active participants in the college’s cultural and academic life. When the college organized a Book Fair in 2024, alumni contributed through handicraft displays and food stalls, drawing praise from distinguished guests. Their presence has also been notable at events marking Rabindra Jayanti, International Mother Language Day (21 February), and International Day of Yoga, among others.
On 23 January 2025, the association organized its first Alumni Reunion, a gathering that filled the campus with warmth and nostalgia as former students reconnected with their alma mater. This was followed by a landmark reunion celebration on 22 February 2026, held to mark the college’s Silver Jubilee — 25 years of its founding. The event honoured former faculty members and support staff, with special recognition extended to those educators who had served the institution in its formative years, often without remuneration or for a nominal honorarium, helping it grow into a self-sustaining institution. Our honourable Principal, Dr. Satabdi Biswas, extended her wholehearted support to the alumni in organizing this event — a gesture deeply valued by the association.
Looking ahead, the alumni association remains firmly committed to the growth and welfare of the college. From facilitating vocational training programmes and medical camps to supporting the institution’s broader development goals, the alumni have stood by Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya in the past, continue to do so in the present, and pledge to remain steadfast partners in its future.
