The department teaches Major and Minor courses (as per NEP structure) in English literature and over a period of time broadened its scope to include literatures of the world.Creative writing and English Language teaching as SEC subjects are also offered to 3 year multi-disciplinary students.As an AEC course,basics of English language is also taught.Our dept.successfully also initiated and contributed to two Add-on courses.Invited lectures with both internal and external resource persons are taken up annually.
• Apart from formal lectures, there are tutorial sessions and informal discussion groups where teacher- student interaction is encouraged.
• Assessment at our end is done through continual evaluation, home assignments and PPT presentations.
• The students of the department regularly participate in Educational tours, NSS programs,cultural activities, debates and in quiz sessions.
• Hons.Graduates in English find job opportunities in sectors requiring strong communication and analytical skills, including:
• Academia,Book publishing and Editing,Journalism and Media,
• Content Writing and Corporate Communications,
• Public Relations and Marketing.
